Own Quake on Steam — Get Dawn of the Machine Free

Buy Quake on Steam. If you already own it, Dawn of the Machine is a free 30th Anniversary update — it appears automatically in your library. The expansion's maps are in the mg1/ folder inside your Quake directory. You must own Quake to access the files.

Choose a Client — All Four Work

Our server runs FTEQW-sv which accepts connections from any of these:

FTEQW — Best Visuals + Native QW SupportFull PBR materials, real-time shadows, Vulkan/GL. Connects natively to our server. fte.triptohell.info
Ironwail — Performance500+ FPS, 4K, perfect for the DotM campaign maps. Great mod compatibility. github.com/andrei-drexler/ironwail
vkQuake-RT — Path Traced Ray TracingFull hardware ray-traced GI, DLSS/FSR. RTX 20-series+. github.com/sultim-t/vkQuake-RT
Steam Quake KEX — Direct IP ConnectThe official Steam remaster. In multiplayer menu, use "Connect to IP" and enter the server address below.

Connect

For FTEQW, Ironwail, and vkQuake-RT — open console (~) and type:

connect quake.sonofasam.com:26001

The server starts on the hub map. Level progression is shared — everyone moves to the next map together when the exit is triggered.

Escape the Machine

Co-op mode. Skill 1 by default. Shared hub progression across all 19 maps. No password — no whitelist.
